This week has brought a whole array of mixed emotions.
First, with school opening it brought much problem solving and confusion (which is normal for this time of year, but none the less mentally taxing) that has to be dealt with. Too boring and in depth to go into here, but it gets better daily as things begin to get solved.
Then of course who can't be affected by the whole Katrina thing? What an absolute, unbeleivable catastrophe! How can something like this happen in this country? My prayers along with my donations do go out to these poor people. My community is looking into opening up part of the national gaurd units here that have been closed for awhile to house some of these unfortunate people. If I had room I would try and house someone! It does make me feel like I have to do more! Well, I will be opened for whatever God leds me to in trying to be more useful!
But of course to turn things to a much lighter and really joyous event!!!!! Congratulations to the O' Connor family! What a incredible and miraculous occasion. A BOY OH JOY! We are so happy for the family! A what a handsome guy he is, even at only hours old!
Last night we did get together with some dear freinds that we haven't seen for a bit. They have been our best freinds for years while the kids were in school. Derrick and their son Micheal have been best freinds since they were 7 years old. We have been involved in so much with the family (coaching, soccer, baseball, basketball, umpiring, little league boards, soccer boards, athletic boosters, etc.) we all became very close. They have come to all the family events that we have. (Dustin's wedding& Angela's first birthday) But dispite all that we have seen much less of them over the last couple of years. I have found that as much as I love them my priorities have changed. I love to see them on occasions but I would rather spend more time with my kids, grandkid and my parents! And that keeps me pretty busy! Yes I am blessed and I do know it and am forever grateful! So we did have a great time eating, visiting and playing Apples to Apples.
Today I am expecting my Mom and Dad, Dave and Kim and Dave Jr. so I will try and post more pictures after that!

I look forward to more pictures of your fun times with family. It helps me to feel like I am still in the loop somehow. Thanks.

It's just me again commenting on the photos. Derrick is looking so grownup. It is like he keeps getting more and more mature. Maybe it's the haircut. He does look great. I love the picture of Melissa and the kiss. Nice job!
Sure hope Mom and Dad made it yesterday. I haven't talked to them yet today.
