Melissa, Matt, the kids and I all went to Dustin and Kelly's for the fourth and we had such a great time! Scott couldn't go because he had so much to get caught up on at work. I felt bad leaving but he said he could get more done if I was gone. He called me a distraction. So we left Thursday evening and got down to Costa Mesa around 11:00. In the morning we all rode bikes to the beach. Dustin and Kelly between the bikes they had and borrowing a couple more, and getting a little cart for the kids made it possible for us to do this! You see right behind their house is a bike path and it is a three mile ride to Newport beach. It was so much fun. I didn't bring my camera then but I wish I would of gotten some pictures at least before we left. It was quite an experience. There were a lot of people because I guess it is the thing to do. But we got down and spent a few hours playing in the water, socking up the sun and watching the people. We stayed for about three hours or so then we rode back before it got really crazy. Then we set up tables and brought the barbecue out to their front yard because that is what everyone does in the neighborhood. about 20 of their Friends came over bringing food and drink and Dustin supplied all the meat and Kelly even made home-made ice cream. We did our own fire works out in front of his house for awhile then when the big fireworks started in his town, well they have the best seats to see them and we don't even have to fight the traffic. It was such great fun! Dustin and Kelly know how to through a party and they definitely have the best place for a forth of July for sure. I have already informed Scott he will be going next year!
Saturday we went to this beach by this fancy hotel in Laguna beach and it was another warm and beautiful day at the beach. Kelly loves the water and all of the kids really got into it. I even got in the waves the first day but the second day the waves were really huge so I just got in a little. In the evening Kelly had something to do at the church and Dustin met her over there a bit later. Then we all met at this nice little barbecue place that had a little play area for the kids! It so nice because we were able to visit and relax and still watch the kids. Another good time! It was a great week-end and we had so much fun! I look forward to doing it again next year as does Melissa and Matt. However hopefully we could get Scott and Derrick to come!

( Just a side note....We had a surprise party for Scott's 60th birthday last weekend. I got so caught up in the fun I didn't get my camera out. We had a good friend take some pictures but I haven't gotten them yet!. I hoping to get them soon then I will share them. It was a real success. All his kids were there except for Domminick and many good friends. It was fun.! Bridgette and Lee got him money toward a barbecue and the rest of the kids and I got him a ticket to a Nebraska football game in Nebraska. He was stoked! I hope soon to get the pictures and I will go into a bit more detail then.)
