Well, I was talking to my favorite oldest son yesterday (that would be Dustin as Derrick falls in the category of favorite youngest son) and I was telling him about all our projects. He wanted me to post some picturesof the deck, so here they are. Matt finished with the deck and got it ready for me to stain. I thought no big deal! I'll just get a roller on roll it on! Well was I wrong! For starters you have to wipe it off after you put it on. Plus there are stairs and railings and posts. So Scott ran to the hardware store and bought me a 4 inch brush. So I did all the stairs, etc. with a brush and then wiping off with a cloth. Needless to say that took a long awhile. Then when I finished that I was pretty tired so I when I got to the flat part I decided to use the roller. BIG MISTAKE! It went on to thick and It happen to be in the hottest part of the deck. So I couldn't wipe it off as quick. I was so discouraged because it was so beautiful except that part. I was so mad! I missed the bad part in the picture, but in any case it is a beautiful job that Matt did. If you look down the stairs you can see below where we took out all the deck on the side of the house and you can see where the fence is being held up be polls. Well I am so excited because our neighbor finally gave the go ahead and he is sending his portion of the money up and we are finally getting that done! Yea! I have waited way too long for this and I am so very happy! They are starting on Monday! So next week we will be showing pictures of that! Stay tune!
