Matt worked on our deck outside our bedroom because it was falling apart and it looked terrible. Melissa came by later in the day to help me paint. We tried to lay the kids down but with the noise that Matt made working it was not too easy. Angela decided after a bit that she couldn't sleep so she helped her Dad. Meanwhile downstairs Melissa and I painted. In the pictures you can see the fake beams Matt put up in the living room. There is a big decision on what color to paint them. As you might see in the picture the walls are what is called sandstone and we will be doing white on the ceiling and the trim. The discussion is weather to paint the beams white or the sandstone like the walls or maybe try and do a stain on them to bring out the wood tones? Funny thing is they are already close to the color of the walls so you can see what that would look like. So Dustin, What do you think? Or anyone else who has an opinion, we'd love to hear it!

Patty and Scott, I really like the way the beams look without paint. Maybe you should paint them sandstone. Love the remodel.

Wow! Everything looks great! I am not so good on the interior decorating decisions. I imagine whatever you decide it will look wonderful.

I don't know that I would paint them. Kelly mentioned painting them a light white. I would either paint them white or sand them down and stain them.
