June 2009

I decided I needed to post at least once a month for those of you who are not on Facebook. Plus it is nice to go back and see the past posts myself. So during the month of June I finished work at Los Osos middle school for the summer. Next year unfortunately I will be driving into San Luis Obispo high school instead. I hope it will be only a couple of years that I have to do this. I loved my school, how close it is to my home and the people I worked with and I will miss very them much!
My beautiful daughter-in-law graduated with her Masters in Divinity. We are so very proud of her. It was a lot of work to do while she was working full time and carrying my grandson. What a woman she is! In fact today is the due date and she is still waiting. Hang in there Kelly!
Also this month was my mother-in-law's 90Th birthday and we threw a surprise party for her. She was very surprised and was thrilled that most the family was there to celebrate with her! My wonderful sister-in- law came from Florida and stayed for a few days and we had so much fun together!
Scott celebrated his birthday too, just Sunday, and we took a little walk over to the little coffee shop on the bay and shared a breakfast. It was a beautiful morning!
Then on Monday we went to dinner with our neighbors Bill, Maria and their daughter Andrea, because it was Bill's birthday too! It was a great evening and we had a great time!
I threw in some pictures of my day at the children's museum with my grand kids because I know how nice it is to see how they grow! They are so sweet and I love being with them!
I think that about covers it and I will post again at the end of July or beginning of August! Till then.......

29th Anniversary at Cambria!
Dustin and Kelly were spending a few days at her parents vacation home in Cambria for an early 5th Anniversary celebration. They decided for a few reasons to cut their stay short. Knowing how much I love that place and it being our 29th anniversary they offered the house to us for the night. I was thrilled! It is the most incredible home in all of Cambria and the view breathtaking. We decided that we wanted to spend as much daylight hours at the house as possible and so we did. We moved the little love seat in front of the picture window and literally sat for hours. We then went to dinner at the Sow's Ear around 8:15. The food was great and we had a great time. But truly the highlight of the trip was this beautiful home where the sound of the waves crashing is constant!. You fall asleep to that sound. We then got up early ,got our coffee and fruit and yogurt and placed ourselves in front of that picture window again! Oh I just hated to leave today! It really was really my favorite anniversary ever. At least it was right up there with our trip To Disney World on our 25th! And that was a whole week! So I just want to thank Kelly (since I heard it was her idea) and Dustin for the offer! I want to thank Melissa and Matt for running over at the last minute to Grandma sit! And to Rick and Kathy Noling for having a home so beautiful and filled with so much Love!

My sweet dear Mother, how I miss you! Thank you for all you did for me. Thank you for all the love you gave me. Thank you for the incredible support you gave me! There are no words that say how I really feel and the gratitude I have for all you did. Today would have been your 84rd birthday. I know you are much happier now where you are and that makes me feel better. But Oh how I miss you!

I wanted to share some pictures of my Christmas vacation. The day after Christmas I went with Melissa and Matt to meet Dustin and Kelly at a cabin in Bigbear. We met them at the base of the mountain. I don't have time to get into all the details of our trip up and down the mountain but trust me it was a nightmare. But the short time we were there it was gorgeous. It had snowed the day before (the most they had in 35 years) and it was great to play in. The pictures were taken right on the deck. The cabin over looks the lake. The snow on the deck was over 4 feet deep before Matt shoveled it! Mason loved going down the disk with his dad.
From there they took me to Palm Springs. They stayed a couple of days then Scott and Steve came down on New Years eve day. What a big difference in weather.....from Snow to laying out by the pool. And to think they are only a couple of hours from each other! Only in California I guess!

As usual, Scott goes over the top when decorating. After he does the inside which takes 4 or 5 evenings, he spends another 4 0r 5 nights doing the outside. You are probably wondering why he does most the decorating? I learned way back when we first got married that when I put something up he will probably rearrange it. so I let him do most of it. I might set some things out here and there but he makes all these different scenes. I said to him maybe we should scale down. Maybe get a smaller tree that we don't have to bolt to the wall, and maybe we don't have to have the most lights on the house than anyone else in the neighborhood. He said he wants to keep doing while he can. I must admit he is pretty good at it and I love it when it is done! The pictures never seem to do it justice. The tree itself is probably almost 5 ft. wide! Good job honey!
